Thinking Of Building An Online Course? Don't... Try This First

The beauty of the creator economy is that there are so many ways you can make money.

And you don't have to create your own 20+ module CBC transformational online course to do it. And you probably shouldn't (at first). A course is a big endeavor, it takes a lot of time and energy to build and there is no guarantee that anyone will buy it.

I've been a course outliner for years. Dreaming up all the different courses I could produce and sell. In reality, how many of those made it to the light of day... ZERO. Either I got busy, got bored, or it was all too much and I gave up.

If you're a creator, and you want to start making some money online, start with something smaller. Something quick and easy that you either already have or can easily build. Announce it, build it, release it and test it on the market.

👉 Are you a collector? Why not start collecting resources into a Notion database that you can sell as a resource

👉 Are you a writer? Start a newsletter and charge people to read it

👉 Do you like to build things? Build a template in Notion that solves a problem

👉 Do you like people? Start a community on Slack or discord that people want to be a part of.

👉 Do you like to teach? Create a workshop that people can sign up for

👉 Do you have a specific skill? Sell that to people as a productised service

Pick a few, mix and match. Follow the signals, what are people asking YOU for. Then set your sights on building a course from your experience as a creator.
