Weekly 3X3: How To Stop Over-scheduling, My Top 10 Twitter Frameworks, and Taking Notes From Podcasts

Welcome to The Weekly 3x3 By Ev | Edition 16 🎉

What a week! Here's a little catchup on what's been happening:

  • There was an actual earthquake here in Australia which is super rare! But luckily no one is hurt.
  • I got the opportunity to jump onto a Twitter space with Justin Mikolay and Gumroad this week to talk about my journey, it was SUPER fun.
  • I'm continuing my one Youtube Video a week streak with a really fun one about how I take notes from podcasts.
  • One more week till the launch of the Focus Hub and it's all systems go to get it ready. Check it out and grab the pre-launch price. Launching 4th October.

Now, let's dive into this week's newsletter...

⚡️ 3 Things I Created.

I wrote a very quick essay on some of the filters I use to stop implementing every other person's good systems into my own. Then there was this one on the constraints I use to schedule my days in an attempt to stop overscheduling myself. And just when I thought I might retire from Twitter Threads, I came up with this one on the top 10 frameworks and ideas I use to schedule a week of tweets in an hour on Sunday morning.

💻 3 Things I Consumed.

To get your brain firing, here are some things I've read this week from around the internet that I've found interesting...

[ARTICLE] How To Create An On-Off Button For Your Mind

This was a great short article on three ways that you can create an off button for your mind. We live in a world where we are constantly encouraged to be on, and in actual fact, our brains work best with rest. Highly recommend this quick read.

[VIDEO] Doing Content Right With Steph Smith

I have been loving these webinars from the Ship30 channel with Dickie Bush & Nicholas Cole. This one with Steph Smith is just a gold mine of good stuff for anyone who writes online. My particular favourite moment is when she talks about how quality is not length, but about if you got your message across effectively. Bookmark this one!

[PODCAST] Justin Mikolay on How To Go From Consumption To Creation

This is one of the densest, most packed with golden nuggets episodes I've listened to in a long time. Andrew Barry talks with Justin Mikolay about a whole lot of things about content consumption, wisdom books, and creating online. My favourite moment: You can't know your creative superpower until you start participating. Get in the game and work it out from there.

Also, subscribe yourself to the Gumroad Podcast this week, it's full of great conversations with epic creators.

🐦 3 Tweets I Bookmarked This Week

This idea from Celz captivated me this week, I love it when people build insanely useful things in Notion like this feelings playbook that she can open when she's feeling a particular way. Inside are instructions on what to do. So good.

I'll say what I said in my retweet. Shout it louder for the people in the back. Matt was spot on with this one.

Within an hour of each other, Andrew & I had written threads on almost the same topic. He breaks down his process for scheduling tweets. Highly recommend bookmarking this one.
