The One Simple Strategy That Can Make Hard Things Look Easy

Today is day 7 of the #75hard challenge for me.

This is the second time I've done the challenge. The last time was WAY back in 2019. And no matter how many times you do it before, it's still HARD!

But one strategy I learned last time around makes it look & feel so much easier: Front Loading

The concept is simple. Get a majority of your progress done early. One of the components of the challenge is to drink 3.7 litres (1 gallon) of water. Which seems like a lot. So I apply front-loading and make sure I start early. I drink a litre before 9am and another litre before 11am.

Once I've downed 2 litres before lunch I know I'll easily hit my goal by the end of the day and it helps to take some of the anxiety away from doing it.

Now I apply Front-Loading To EVERYTHING:

Front-Load Your Day. I love to get up & make a start early. Wether you wake up at 5am or sleep late, there is something to be said for getting a majority of your work or tasks done early in the day. Then you can breeze through the afternoons.

Front-Load Your Week. The same concept can be applied to your week. Power through a heap of tasks from Monday to Wednesday and then spend the rest of the week taking it easier or having the flexibility to work on other things that come up for you.

Front-Load Your Writing. When you have an idea for something you want to write about, do a big brain dump at the time you have the idea. That way when you go to write you are not starting from a blank page.

Front-Loading doesn't make things easier, but it certainly makes them look (& feel) easier.
