A mere 48 days ago I set sail on one of the wildest journey's of my life.
So many of you will be shipping day 1's over the next 24 hours or so. So here's some of my thoughts as a day 48'er.
It will be hard. The writing, the building a new habit, the coming up with new ideas. But the hardest part is getting out of your own head. If you can do that, you've won half the battle.
You'll want to quit. Many times over. And that's ok. Reach out, have a vent, swear a little. And then sit down and write your essay. Nothing good in life ever came easy.
30 days will go fast. Some days it will feel like this ship isn't moving one bit. But daily habits compound quickly and you'll see that essay number rising quickly the longer you stick it out.
This is not a cruise ship guys. I had a little chuckle every time someone mentioned this was a cruise. You're here to ship. This is a big old ugly shipping boat. And that's what it's going to be like for the first 30 days. Big, Ugly, Chaotic.
Embrace the Chaos. Maybe you didn't finish onboarding, got your system perfected, or you missed your sacred time. Ship anyway. Life isn't perfect.
Listen to your captains. Don't think you're immune to the pitfalls of the ship. Your captains have watched hundreds of people do this... they know a thing or two.
Reach out to your crew for help. Connect with your accountability partner, reach out to the alumni's. We're all in this together and we're all here to get you through.
Above all, embrace the beautiful chaos of it all. Good luck shippers x
